Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VIIB SMP It Darul Huda Ukui
This research is motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of students because students have difficulty understanding mathematical concepts and students are less active in the learning process. So we need a learning model that can help students learn and can stimulate students to understand concepts to complete mathematics, one of which is the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning process and student learning outcomes of mathematics through the application of the PBL model. This type of research is classroom action research with two cycles. This research was carried out in class VIIB of SMP IT Darul Huda Ukui in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The subjects of this study were 29 students. The research data consists of teacher-student activity data and student learning outcomes data. Data on teacher and student activities were collected using observational techniques and analyzed using descriptive-narrative analysis, while data on student learning outcomes were collected through tests, and analyzed using descriptive-narrative analysis. Statistical descriptive analysis showed that the students' mathematics learning outcomes increased from basic grades to daily test I, daily test I to daily test II. The percentage of students who achieved the KKM increased from the basic score with a percentage of 34.48% (10 students) to 55.17% (16 students) on the first daily test and 75.86% (22 students) on the second daily test. The results of this study indicate that the application of the PBL model can improve the learning process and learning outcomes of mathematics for class VIIB students of SMP IT Darul Huda Ukui even semester for the 2020/2021 academic year. The implication is that the application of the PBL model has a positive impact on the implementation of the learning process, namely students become more active in learning activities so that learning is not teacher-centred. Key words: Problem Based Learning (PBL), Mathematics Learning Outcomes
