Pengembangan Pariwisata Dalam Perspektif Sustainable Tourism Di Rupat Utara Kabupaten Bengkalis

The tourism sector plays an important role in supporting the economy, this
makes tourist receiving countries vying to develop the tourism industry. Various
efforts have been made to make tourist destinations attractive and able to
generate as many tourist visits as possible. Researchers want to see how far the
development of tourism in North Rupat is based on the data available at the
relevant Office, as well as the realization of the development of North Rupat
Island as stated in the 2016-2021 National Tourism Strategic Area Plan, which is
targeted this year and whether tourism development has been realized in a
sustainable manner. . Researchers also want to see and know what are the
inhibiting factors in tourism development in Bengkalis Regency. This research
method is qualitative with a descriptive case approach.
The results show that tourism development in the perspective of
Sustainable Tourism in North Rupat, Bengkalis Regency through the application
of nine principles of sustainable tourism, namely participation, aspects of the
participation of stakeholders, local ownership, sustainable resource development,
accommodating community goals, carrying capacity, monitoring and evaluation. ,
accountability, and training. This study found that the nine principles have not
been implemented as a whole. There are several inhibiting factors for tourism
development in the perspective of Sustainable Tourism in North Rupat, namely
commitment, limited land, and budget.
