Identifikasi Komponen Bioaktif Dan Aktivitas Antibakteri Fraksi Ekstrak Rumput Laut Cokelat (Sargassum Plagyophyllum) Terhadap Bakteri Staphylococcus Aureus Dan Escherichia Coli
ABSTRACT
Sargassum plagyophyllum is one kind of brown seaweed that contains a bioactive
component covering alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids/terpenoids, saponins and
phenolic are potentially antibacterial. This study was aimed to determine the
bioactive compound of fraction extract S. plagyophyllum qualitatively and
specifying the antibacterial activities of the S. plagyophyllum fraction by the
commonwealth method. The research method used is an experiment by
conducting a series of S. plagyophyllum extraction fractionation experiments. The
test parameters observed were the identification of bioactive compaunds
(alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids/terpenoids, saponin, phenolics) qualitatively and
determine the activity of antibacterial within the S. plagyophyllum fraction against
the bacteria S. aureus and E. coli. The results showed that the bioactive
compounds present in extract methanol of S. plagyophyllum were flavonoids,
steroids/terpenoids, saponins and phenolics. In the ethyl acetate fraction were
alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids/terpenoids, saponins and phenolics and in the nheksana
and butanol fraction just compounds steroids/terpenoids and saponins.
The extracting fraction of the S. plagyophyllum can impede the growth of
antibacterial activity against S. aureus and E. coli. Ethyl acetate fraction is the
best for recuding antibacterial activity with the average prevention zone, is the
most elevated of the 12,95 ± 0,64 mm in the S. aureus bacteria and 10 ± 0,14 mm
in the E. coli bacteria.
