Inventarisasi Dan Karakterisasi Ikan Tembakul (Gobiidae: Oxudercinae) Dari Lingkungan Intertidal Kabupaten Bengkalis, Riau

Mudskipper is one of the aquatic fauna that can be found in intertidal areas, both
beaches and mangrove forests. Mangrove degradation and coastal abrasion cause
changes in the intertidal environment of Bengkalis Regency that can have an
impact on the existence and diversity of mudskipper. This study aims to inventory
and characterize mudskipper (Gobiidae: Oxudercinae) from the intertidal
environment of Bengkalis Regency, Riau. Mudskipper were taken in October
2020 in 4 different locations. Specimen were collected with a fishing rod, tanggok
or by hand. The morphological characters observed are morphometric characters,
meristic characters, colors, and special characters. The results of research in the
intertidal area of Bengkalis Regency found 5 species of 3 genera of mudskipper
fish, there are: Boleophthalmus boddarti, Periophthalmodon schlosseri,
Periophthalmodon septemradiatus, Periophthalmus chrysospilos and
Periophthalmus variabilis. Based on morphological character, there are several
distinguishing characters from the five species, there are: first dorsal fin height,
anal fin length, total second dorsal fin element, total anal fin element, types of
pelvic fin and the color or pattern on the body of the mudskipper.
