Komposisi Jenis Dan Struktur Vegetasi Di Kampus Bina Widya Universitas Riau Sebagai Rancangan Poster Lipat Materi Keanekaragaman Hayati Kelas X SMA
The existence and diversity of vegetation is one of the determinants of
biodiversity and the quality of an ecosystem. The difficulty of finding natural
ecosystems in urban areas does not eliminate the opportunity for students to get to
know diversity. The built ecosystem can still provide an overview of diversity.
This study aims to analyze the qualitative and quantitative parameters of
vegetation in several areas at the Bina Widya Campus, Riau University as
information regarding the condition of the campus area’s vegetation and its
potential as a folding poster design for high school biology subjects for class X
biodiversity material. This study was conducted in November 2020-April 2021 at
11 points on the Bina Widya campus, Riau University. This research was carried
out in three stages, namely a field survey, quantitative data processing, and the
development of a folding poster design on Biodiversity material. The results of
this study found 31 species of plants in the tree strata from 18 families, 27 species
of plants in the pole strata from 17 families, 16 species from 12 families in the
sapling strata, 8 species from 7 families in the seedling strata, 8 species of shrubs
and shrubs, and 22 types of ground cover/underground vegetation spread over
eleven research stations. The Fabaceae family is the most dominating family. At
the species level, Mahogany (Swietienia macrophylla King), became the dominant
species. The results of the analysis of the vegetation structure show that the
Diversity Index at each station is in the low to moderate range for the type of built
ecosystem, and moderate for the type of natural ecosystem. The data from this
study was developed into a learning medium for the material for biodiversity class
X SMA in the form of a folding poster that will be used in Basic Competencies
3.2 and 4.2 at the first meeting of the sub-material level of biodiversity.
Key words: vegetation analysis, folding poster, biodiversity
