Pengaruh Laju Alir Dan Tegangan Pada Pengolahan Limbah Air Terproduksi Menjadi Air Bersih Dengan Metode Elektrokoagulasi Plate Column Secara Kontinyu
ABSTRACT
Produced water is one of the wastes produced by the petroleum industry from
exploration and production of oil and gas. Produced water contains organic and
inorganic compounds which can potentially become hazardous and toxic
materials waste. Therefore, produced waste water should be removed first by
electrocoagulation method. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect
of flow rate and voltage using electrocoagulation methods with pollutant
parameters such as chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total dissolved solid
(TDS). The electrocoagulation process uses direct current electrical power
through electrodes. The electrocoagulation reactor is paired with a cable
connected to the power supply then connected to an electric current with voltage
variations (12; 24; and 36 Volt) and variations in flow rates ((1.621 ; 1.098 ;
0.512 L/min). The results of this study found that best conditions were obtained at
current of 36 Volt and flow rate of 0.512 L/min with decrease in COD of 75%
from 280 mg/L to 70 mg/L, a decrease in TDS of 79.06% from 4300 mg/L to 900
mg/L. The results of the research obtained are in accordance with the waste water
quality standards by Permen LH No.19 2010.
