performance of the teacher's role in relation to the quality of education must start
with himself. As a person, the teacher is a manifestation of himself with all the
unique characteristics that are in accordance with his position as the teacher of
the teaching profession. Based on the phenomena obtained from observations at
school, there is a tendency to weaken the performance of SD Negeri teachers in
Bagan Barat Village, Rokan Hilir Regency, it can be seen: teachers have not
implemented varied learning strategies, teachers have not implemented effective
learning activity structures, teachers have not improved teaching performance
through Action Research Classes (CAR), and teachers in the development of the
syllabus have not conducted a context analysis. There are still teachers who have
quality work that is not in accordance with their field. There are still teachers
who are not able to maximize the use of work time effectively. There are still
teachers who are less responsible for the work they have received.
This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The data
collection technique used was a questionnaire given to 90 teachers who were
randomly selected as samples using the census sampling method. The research
was conducted, namely the respondents gave responses to the questionnaire in the
form of a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple
linear regression and data processing using the Statistical Package for Social
Science (SPSS) program.
Based on the results of the study there is a relationship between the
supervision of the principal on teacher performance. The better the supervision of
the principal provided will affect the more effective the performance of the
resulting teacher. This means that the supervision of the principal is an important
variable to consider so that teacher performance can increase. There is a
significant relationship between teacher discipline and teacher performance. The
higher the teacher's discipline, which is described by a high work ethic, will
support better teacher performance. Therefore, teacher discipline is an important
variable to consider in improving teacher performance. There is a significant
relationship between principal supervision and teacher discipline on teacher
performance. The better the supervision of the principal and the higher the
discipline of the teacher, the better the teacher's performance
