Pengembangan Bahan Ajar Komik Matematika Berbasis Model Problem Based Learning Untuk Memfasilitasi Kemampuan Representasi Matematis Siswa SMP
The background of the problem in this study is related to the mathematics teaching materials used in schools and the low mathematical representation ability of students. The use of teaching materials is very important in a learning process. Teaching materials are all materials or materials that are systematically arranged and provide direction in achieving the desired learning objectives. There are various types of teaching materials, one of which is printed teaching materials in the form of books. In connection with mathematics teaching materials, so that students are interested in the teaching materials provided, it is better if the teaching materials have a display that can attract students' attention. Teaching materials in the form of mathematical comics can increase students' interest and interest in these teaching materials, so students want to feel like reading these teaching materials. Mathematical comics are designed with storylines that can be adapted and related to students' daily lives. One of the learning models that has a relationship with comics is the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The PBL model is a model that makes real-world problems a context for learning to think and carry out the problem-solving process. Generally, problems in PBL are in the form of word-problems, which must be interpreted and represented in mathematical form. The statement shows that mathematical representation skills become important when students carry out the process of solving mathematical problems. Based on the use of the PBL model in learning, one of the abilities that must be mastered by students is the ability of mathematical representation. This study aims to produce mathematical comics teaching materials that use the PBL model to facilitate the mathematical representation ability of junior high school students. The results of this study can assist teachers in using appropriate teaching materials for students. The development model used in this study is the ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation stages. The analysis stage starts from analyzing the teaching materials used by the teacher, the learning materials to be studied and the students' mathematical representation abilities. Furthermore, the design stage is carried out by designing mathematical comics teaching materials according to the steps of making a comic. The storyline and learning process in comics are also adapted to the use of the PBL model. The development stage is passed by conducting an assessment of the developed teaching materials. The assessment was carried out by four validators by filling out a questionnaire to test the validity of mathematics comics teaching materials. However, before the questionnaire was used, it was first validated by an expert validator of educational instruments. The mathematical comics teaching materials that have been developed have been declared valid with a percentage of 91.95% and can be implemented in the learning process. The implementation phase was carried out with small group trials consisting of six

students with heterogeneous abilities. Students were given a response questionnaire to the mathematics comics teaching materials. Based on the results of the assessment, mathematics comics teaching materials meet the very valid criteria with an average of 91.9. The evaluation stage was passed with improvements based on suggestions by the validators. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the mathematical comics teaching materials using the PBL model to facilitate the mathematical representation abilities of junior high school students on the set material have met the valid and practical criteria so that they can be used in the learning process.
