Green betel leaves and kaffir lime have long been used by the community in everyday
life and can be used as vegetable insecticides, because of the stage of leaf
development that causes changes in volatile compounds. Towling of young, mature
and old leaves is constantly feared to trigger growth in growth and development of
plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the change in essential oils and the
activities of young, mature and old leaves with green betel and kaffir lime which was
effective against essential oil yields and death of home flies. This study used a
descriptive method without any repetition and randomized design of the group,
consisting of: the concentration of essential oils of young, mature and old leaves with
green betel and kaffir lime (0.01 ml) with 5 replications. Data from essential oil
yields was analyzed descriptively and the death of home flies was analyzed
statistically using the univariate analysis of the level of 5%, which was continued by
the Duncan multiple distance test of the level of 5%. The results showed that young
and mature leaves green betel and kaffir lime lodges produce higher essential oil
yields than their old leaves, the highest yield found in essential oils of young and
mature leaves kaffir lime, which was 0.83%, univariate analysis of the level of 5%
shows that the same concentration of young, mature and old leaves essential oils with
green betel and kaffir lime has a significant effect on the death of home flies,
essential oils of young and mature leaves whispered green betel and kaffir lime each
produces a home flies death with a higher percentage than the old leaves and the
highest percentage of the death of home flies is found in essential oils of young and
mature leaves kaffir lime, which is 96.00%
