Daya Dukung Waduk Pangean Di Kecamatan Pangean Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Berdasarkan Total-P
Abstract
Carrying capacity is defined as the ability of aquatic environment in supporting
the life organism in that area. A research aims to determine the carrying capacity
and the number of floating net cages that can be operated in the Pangean
Reservoir based on total phosphorus concentrations was conducted in July-
August 2019. Water samples were taken at four stations, namely Station 1 (riverin
zone), Station 2 and Station 3 (transition zones) and Station 4 (lacustrine zone). In
each station, there were 2 sampling points, namely in the surface and 2 Secchi
depth. Samplings were conducted three times, once a week. Water quality
parameters measured were total phosphorus, depth, transparency, temperature,
pH, dissolved oxygen and biochemical oxygen demand. Results shown that total-
P concentrations ranged from 0.043-0.153 mg/L. Water quality parameters were
as follows: depth 248-388 cm, transparency 93-102 cm, temperatures 29-310C,
pH 5, dissolved oxygen 5-7.17 mg/L and BOD5 9.6-19.2 mg/L. The carrying
capacity of the Pangean Reservoir based on Total-P is 2,8124 ton/year and the
number of floating net cages (FNC) that can be operated is 10 units, sized 4 x 6 x
2 m3. Data obtained in this research indicate that the number of floating net cage
(FNC) units in Pangean Reservoir has exceeded its carrying capacity.
