Potensi Hasil Beberapa Varietas Kedelai (Glycine Max (L.) Merrill) Di Kebun Percobaan Universitas Riau
ABSTRACT
Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) is one of the palawija crops that have
long been cultivated by the people of Indonesia. Soybeans can be processed into
tempeh, tofu, soy sauce, tauco, etc. This plant has an important meaning to meet
food needs in order to improve community nutrition. Domestic soybean
production has not been able to meet the demand for soybeans for the manufacture
of tempeh, tofu and other products. In 2018, 64.53% of soybean demand in
Indonesia was still imported. To increase soybean production, high yielding
varieties seeds are used. Seeds can be divided into 3 groups based on seed size,
namely small, medium, and large seeds. Several studies have shown that large
seeds can improve several soybean characters, such as plant height, number of
branches, production per plant, and total number of seeds per plant. This study
aims to determine the yield potential of several soybean varieties in the Riau
University Experimental Garden.
This research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the
Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Bina Widya Campus KM 12.5
Pekanbaru. The study was carried out for four months starting from November
2020 to February 2021. This research was carried out experimentally using a
randomized block design (RBD), consisting of 6 genotypes and 3 replications so
that 18 units were obtained. The soybean genotypes tested included medium-sized
soybeans, namely the Cikuray, Si Bayak, and Detam-3 Prida genotypes, and largeseed
soybeans, namely the Detam-2, Mutiara-3 and Dena-1 genotypes.
