Studi Tentang Eksistensi Batagak Gala Masyarakat Minangkabau Pada Era Modernisasi Di Kampung Olo Kecamatan Nanggalo Kota Padang Sumatera Barat
The indigenous people of West Sumatra always adhered to traditional traditions, one of the traditions of giving titles to the groom, namely "batagak gala" tradition. The formulation of the problem in this research is the existence of the "batagak gala" tradition in the modernization era. The purpose of the study was to find out the existence of the "batagak gala" tradition in the modernization era in Olo-Village, Padang City. The research data analysis technique used qualitative methods with an-ethnographic study approach. The results of this study explain that "batagak gala" tradition has undergone changes, namely: 1)the implementation time is no longer limited 2)the place for the "batagak gala" tradition is not required to be carried out in the "rumah gadang", but can be at home normally. The changes are not that significant. The Minangkabau community in Olo-Village still maintains the principles, values in Minangkabau, actualizing the "batagak gala marapulai" tradition
