Efektifitas Pelaksanaan Program Pembinaan Anak Jalanan Di Dinas Sosial Kota Pekanbaru
In recent years the number of street children has increased in the city of Pekanbaru. This
if left unchecked will lead to many other social problems, such as exploitation, disease, acts of
violence, trafficking (child trafficking) and sexual harassment. In addition, this also causes
discomfort in the life of fellow human beings. To anticipate the proliferation of street children, the
Pekanbaru City Government has issued Regional Regulation Number 12 of 2008 concerning
Social Order. The Pekanbaru City Regional Regulation aims to control and supervise carefully and
continuously on social welfare. In this case, the responsibility for handling the development of
street children is the Pekanbaru City Social Service. This study aims to determine the effectiveness
of the implementation of the street children development program in the social service of
Pekanbaru City as measured by the accuracy of program targets, program socialization,
achievement of program objectives and program monitoring. This study uses a descriptive research
with a qualitative approach and uses data collection techniques of documentation, observation, and
interviews which aim to provide a systematic description of the effectiveness of the
implementation of the street children development program in the social service of Pekanbaru city.
This research was carried out at the Pekanbaru City Social Service and involved 4 informants who
were used as resource persons. The findings in this study indicate that the effectiveness of the
implementation of the street children development program in its implementation is still said to be
ineffective because the maximum results have not been achieved due to the lack of firm action and
the lack of consistency in the implementation of the coaching program by Pekanbaru City Social
Service employees.
