Pengaruh Interaksi Sosial Teman Sebaya Terhadap Karakter Peduli Lingkungan Remaja Putri Di Kampung Maredan Barat Kecamatan Tualang Kabupaten Siak

Humans as social beings cannot be separated from their environment. Therefore, they
cannot be selfish and need help from the surrounding environment. An attitude of
caring for the environment can be demonstrated by always protecting the environment
where people live in. An individual can invite his or her peers to have awareness in
protecting the environment. This study aims to determine whether there is a
significant positive effect on Peer Social Interaction on the Environmental Care
Character of Young Women in West Maredan Village, Tualang Subdistrict, Siak
Regency. This study employed a quantitative descriptive approach involving a sample
of 68 young women. The instrument utilized in this study was a questionnaire that
covered the two variables, namely, peer social interaction and environmental care
character. This study found a significant effect between the variables of Peer Social
Interaction (X) Environmental Care Character (Y) of the young women, West
Maredan Village, Rualang Subdistrict, Siak Regency. The effect was only 12.80%
which was low since 87.20% was determined by other factors that were not part of
this study. This effect was illustrated by each one-unit increase in social interaction
(X) followed by an increase in environmental care (Y) of 0.397. Referring to the
Pearson correlation value, the product of the moment between social interaction and
Environmental Care Character was 114.641 and sig (2-tailed) 0.001.
