Ritme Aktivitas Terbang Harian Lebah Galo Galoheterotrigona Itama Dalam Pemeliharaan Di Kebun Buah Kandi Kota Sawahlunto Sumatera Barat
Heterotrigona itama is a species of stingless bee that is mostly kept by local
beekeepers, especially in the Kandi orchards of Sawahlunto City. The productivity of
stingless bees in producing honey and propolis is determined by the activities of the
worker bees. The more active these worker bees fly, the more honey and propolis are
collected in the hive. This research was conducted in March 2021 at the Kandi
orchard in the city of Sawahlunto. The purpose of this study was to examine the flight
activity of Heterotrigona itama in relation to daily time and various environmental
factors, as well as to see the source of food for stingless bees. Three colonies were
observed hourly for 5 minutes from 06:00 a.m. until 06.00 p.m. Transect observations
were also carried out to see the distribution of stingless bee feed vegetation. The
results showed that the activity of flying into and out of the nest in Heterotrigona
itama was found to be the highest activity at 06:30 a.m to 08:30 a.m. Correlation
analysis between environmental factors and flight activity in each colony showed a
different correlation, but tended to be positively correlated with light intensity. Based
on the results of the analysis of vegetation on the three transects, 18 different families
were found and have potential as food sources for stingless bees. Analysis of tree
levels in the dominance of Acacia auriculiformis(105.1), saplings dominated by
Hylocereus undatus(151) and seedlings dominated by Pseuderanthemum
reticulatum(169.6) sorted by the highest value index.
