Identifikasi Komponen Bioaktif Dan Aktivitas Antioksidan Anggur Laut Caulerpa Lentillifera Yang Diekstraksi Secara Bertingkat
ABSTRACT
Caulerpa lentillifera is one of the green seaweeds that has the potential as
a source of antioxidants. The content of bioactive compounds in C. lentillifera
consists of saponins, flavonoids, phenols and alkaloids. This study was aimed to
determine the total flavonoid phenolic compounds and saponins, and the
antioxidant activity of C. lentillifera extract. The research method used is an
experiment by conducting a series of experiments, extracting fresh C. lentillifera
by maceration in stages with solvents of different polarities. The solvent was used
for extraction consisted of non-polar (hexane), semi-polar (ethyl acetate) and polar
(methanol). Parameter analysis consisted of analysis of total phenol, flavonoid,
saponin, and antioxidant activity. The results showed that the yield of C.
lentillifera extract with hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol was 0.36, 0.39, and
0.42%. Saponin content of hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts were
0.14%, 0.17%, and 0.20%, respectively, in 100 g of sample. The total phenol
produced in the ethyl acetate and methanol extracts was 0.14 and 0.15%,
respectively. The flavonoid content was only found in the methanol extract of
0.17%. The antioxidant activity of hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts
with IC50 values were 234.28, 203.96, and 124.77 ppm, respectively. Extracts of
C. lentillifera with different polarity solvents produced different bioactive
components. Saponins were produced in all three types of solvents, phenol and
flavonoids were found in ethyl acetate and methanol extracts and flavonoids only
in methanol extracts.
