Eksistensi Pura Agung Jagatnatha dan Implementasi Nilai Kebhinekaan di Kota Pekanbaru

Pekanbaru is the capital city of Riau Province which is dominated by the Malay community, in carrying out the social life of the community, the Malay community cannot be separated from religious values. Islam is the majority religion adopted by the Malay community in Pekanbaru City. However, it is undeniable that in the life of the people there is dominance in religious life. The diversity of religions adopted by the people in Pekanbaru City shows that the tolerance of religious life in Malay lands is quite good at this time. One of the evidences that support this argument is the establishment of a temple called Pura Agung Jagatnatha as a holy place for Hindus in Pekanbaru City.
Pura Agung Jagatnata in Pekanbaru City is different from the location of Pura Jagat in general. This temple was established in an area where the majority of the population is non-Hindu, considering that Hinduism is one of the minority religions in Pekanbaru City. The existence of the temple as a house of worship has brought its own impact on the social and religious life of the people of Pekanbaru City.
The author uses qualitative research methods because in this study the author observes the object. thoroughly with descriptive comprehensive data presentation. The method of data collection in this study was through observation and interviews. There are several data analysis techniques such as: data reduction, data presentation (data display), drawing conclusions (verification) while in data validity using triangulation techniques. The results of this study are that behind the construction of Pura Agung Jagatnatha there is a long history which is the most important part of the religious life of the Hindu community of Pekanbaru City, there is the development and existence of Pura Agung Jagatnatha as one of the houses of worship that promotes diversity, and after the construction of Pura Agung Jagatnatha brings its own impact on the socio-religious life of the people of Pekanbaru City.
