Rancang Bangun Antena Cylinder Sebagai Pendeteksi Kadar Gula Dalam Darah
ABSTRACT
Diabetes mellitus affects the health of millions of people worldwide. Currently the
technology used by diabetics to determine blood sugar concentrations is an
invasive method, which requires a blood sample and is painful. Bloodless and
painless technology to monitor blood sugar levels could improve prevention, and
control of sugar levels in diabetics. This thesis presents a cylindrical antenna
design that can be used for non-invasive blood glucose monitoring. The antenna
worked well at 1.55-1.88 GHz when tested with a cylindrical phantom, which is a
representation of a finger, and worked well without a phantom in the ISM band of
2.4 GHz. The simulation results using CST software show the return loss of -22.6
dB, and a bandwidth of 323 MHz that meets the ISM Band standard. The simulation
results obtained a gain value of 3.27 dBi, with a directional radiation pattern. The
SAR level measurement was carried out and obtained a value of 0.271 W/Kg or
already meets the ANSI/IEEE standard, which is a maximum of 1.6W/Kg. The test
results using a cylinder antenna show a frequency shift that occurs at 7.5 MHz for
every mg/dl of blood sugar levels, this frequency shift can be used to observe
changes in the concentration of sugar levels in the blood.
