Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Ekstrak Chlorella Sp. Menggunakan Pelarut Berbeda Terhadap Bakteri Escherichia Coli Dan Staphylococcus Aureus
ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the phytochemical components of bioactive compounds
from the extract of Chlorella sp. and determine the antibacterial activity by the well
method. There were 3 solvents to extract the Chlorella sp. namely methanol 70%,
ethyl acetate 80%, and n-hexane 80% with a sample ratio of 1:2. The yield of
Chlorella sp. extracts using methanol was 30.16%, ethyl acetate 17.31% and nhexane
4.21%. The bioactive compounds contained in Chlorella sp. were saponins
and steroids. The Chlorella sp. which was extracted with different solvents could
inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Chlorella
sp. extract with methanol solvent obtained the highest inhibitory power (14.75 mm)
against Escherichia coli, and n-hexane solvent obtained the highest inhibitory power
(4.45 mm) against Staphylococcus aureus.
