Distribusi Diatom Epilitik (Bacillariophyceae) Berdasarkan Jenis Substrat Pada Zona Intertidal Kawasan Pelabuhan Palimbungan Ketek Batahan Kabupaten Mandailing Natal Provinsi Sumatera Utara

This research was conducted from December 2016 until January 2017 in the port area of Palimbungan Ketek Batahan Mandailing Natal District of North Sumatera Province. The aim was to know the types and distribution of epilithic diatom based on substrate types, i.e., woods, cements, and rocks. The method used was survey method and the analysis was done in the laboratory of Marine Biology, Fisheries and Marine Faculty of Riau University. The results showed that there were 10 species of epilthic diatoms. Epilithic diatoms with the highest abundances of species was Isthmia sp. The highest average abundance of epilithic diatoms was found in wood substrate with the value was 7686.46 ind/cm2. The average highest abundance of epilithic diatoms between the plot section substrates was found in rock substrate plot I,II,III lower section with the average abudance value was 2951.05 ind/cm2. The average value of variety index (H’) were 0.963 – 1.672 ; equability index (E) were 0.230 – 0.611. ; and dominant index (D) were 0.367 – 0.592.
