ABSTRACT
Citra variety water apple (Syzygium aqueum [Burm. F.] Alston) is a type of fruit that is very well known and in great demand by the public. In the last few years, in Riau Province, especially in the city of Pekanbaru, people's interest in cultivating water apple has increased, so it is necessary to procure seeds. Efforts have been made to obtain quality cuttings from cuttings, including branch cuttings using bovine biourin growth regulator. This study aims to obtain water apple seedlings of the Citra variety from branch cuttings which grow better by using branch cuttings in different positions and providing a growth regulator of bovine biourin. The study was conducted in the form of a factorial experiment arranged according to a 3 x 4 completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications. The first factor is the origin of the branch cuttings which consists of 3 parts, namely the origin of the branch cuttings at the base, the middle part and the tip. The second factor was the ZPT concentration of bovine biourin which consisted of 4 levels, namely without administration of bovine biourin, 25% concentration, 50% concentration and 75% concentration. variable observed were percentage of live cuttings, time of shoot emergence, shoot length, number of leaves, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root volume, root fresh weight and root dry weight. The results of the variance were tested further with the honest significant difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the positioning of the cutting material at the ends showed the best results on the variable of the number of leaves, shoot wet weight, shoot dry weight, and root volume. While the treatment of bovine biourin concentration of 75% showed the best results on all variable.
