Pemanfaatan Asap Cair Dari Jerami Padi Sebagai Koagulan Lateks
This research aims to obtain the optimal concentration of rice straw liquid smoke in coagulating latex. The treatments in this research were rice straw liquid smoke concentrations such as 2% formic acid (control), 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% as a latex coagulant. The parameters observed include the characteristics of liquid smoke resulting from pyrolysis of rice straw including: pH, acetic acid and phenol yield. Meanwhile, in the application of rice straw liquid smoke as a coagulant, the parameters observed include latex pH, coagulation time, coagulum yield and dry rubber content (KKK). The data were analyzed statistically using analysis of varience (ANOVA) with duncan’s multiple range test (DMRT) at the 5% level. Characteristics of the rice straw liquid smoke produced included a yield of 8.11%, liquid smoke pH of 3.80, acetic acid content of 2.64% and phenol content of 0.43%. The results of analysis on the application of liquid smoke showed that different concentrations of rice straw liquid smoke had significantly different effects on the clotting time, latex pH, coagulum yield and dry rubber content. The treatment chosen in this study was rice straw liquid smoke with a concentration of 30% with a latex pH value of 5.20, clotting time of 85.94 minutes, coagulum yield of 47.4% and dry rubber content of 43.6%.
