Bahasa Slang dalam Acara Talkshow Bercanda Tapi Santai (BTS) Youtube Trans7 Official

This research examines the form, meaning and function of slang language in the talk show Bercanda Tapi Santai (B.T.S.) on YouTube Trans7 Official. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative with a sociolinguistic approach. The data were derived from 16 episodes of the B.T.S. show and analyzed by the tenets of Roman Jakobson's theory of language variation and function. The findings indicate that slang, exemplified by terms such as "cuan," "mager," and "santuy," is frequently employed by the hosts and guests to foster a relaxed and convivial conversational ambiance. The primary function of slang in this context is reinforcing social identity and facilitating interaction between speakers. Moreover, using slang in B.T.S. generates humor and intimacy with the audience.
