Communication is a process involving two or more people to form or exchange information with each other. Pulau Terap Village is one of the villages that conducts floating net cage (KJA) fish farming. The problem faced by farmers is poverty, so they need patrons to conduct farming. The existence of a communication pattern in the working relationship between patrons and farmers can help the economy of farmers in Pulau Terap Village. This study aims to determine the variables that cause the relationship between patrons and farmers and the form of communication pattern in the working relationship between patrons and farmers. The research method used is a phenomenological qualitative method, with primary and secondary data collection techniques. Informant sampling in this study was done through snowball sampling, resulting in 18 informants. The relationship between farmers and patrons is difficult to separate because it is needed by both parties. The relationship between farmers and patrons has both positive and negative influences. Economic relationships are formed from economic activities, including buying and selling and debt. Social relationships emerge from interactions between farmers and patrons in the form of disaster relief, Eid assistance, and wedding assistance. Farmers and patrons always prioritize direct interaction when solving problems face-to-face. The communication pattern in the working relationship between patrons and farmers is not only limited to self-interest or seeking profit alone, but also involves chemistry between farmers and patrons.
