Aplikasi Jaringan Internet Dalam Pemantauan Penyiraman Dan Pemupukan Kelapa Sawit Menggunakan Protokol Mqtt
ABSTRACT
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of Indonesia’s leading commodities that plays an important role in the national economy. However, irrigation and fertilization activities that are carried out manually often do not meet the actual needs of the plants. This study developed an Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring system for oil palm irrigation and fertilization using an ESP32 microcontroller and the MQTT protocol. The system utilizes Soil Moisture, DHT22, and Soil pH sensors to detect soil conditions in real time, with the collected data transmitted to an MQTT Broker and displayed through the Telegram application. Soil conditions are classified as dry when below 60%, normal between 60%–80%, and wet above 80%. Based on the Quality of Service (QoS) parameters following the TIPHON standard, the QoS index value for irrigation increased from 2.54 to 3.00 in the morning and from 2.61 to 3.04 in the afternoon, while for fertilization it increased from 2.75 to 3.00. These results demonstrate that the implementation of the MQTT protocol improves network quality in the oil palm irrigation and fertilization system.
