Rancangbangun Sistem Presensi Guru Menggunakan Face Recognition Berbasis Website Di Sds Global Andalan
ABSTRACT
The use of information technology in education plays an important role in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative processes, including teacher attendance systems. SD Swasta Global Andalan still uses a manual attendance system with conventional attendance sheets, which causes various issues such as data manipulation risks, document loss, and difficulties for teachers on official duties outside the school. To address these problems, this study designed and developed a Face Recognition-Based Attendance System using the Laravel framework and the Face-api.js library integrated with a MySQL database. The system enables attendance recording in real-time through a laptop or smartphone camera, using facial validation as authentic proof of presence. The development method used is the Prototype Method, while the research method applied is Research and Development (R&D). Test results show that the system can recognize faces accurately at an ideal distance of 20–30 cm with sufficient lighting, although accuracy decreases under dark conditions or at longer distances. Based on evaluation metrics, the system achieved 81.6% accuracy, 94.8% precision, 73.3% recall, and an F1-Score of 82%, indicating good system performance. In addition, Black Box Testing showed a 100% success rate (Very Feasible category), and Usability Testing obtained an average score of 84.7% (Very Satisfactory category). Therefore, this system can be an effective solution to improve the accuracy, security, and efficiency of the teacher attendance process at SD Swasta Global Andalan.
