Dinamika Pelaksanaan Pemilihan Kepala Daerah Kabupaten Kampar Periode 2017-2022

Election of Regional Heads or often referred to as Pilkada is a means for the people to channel their right to be elected and elect. At the time of the regional head elections, of course, it was inseparable from the problems faced by the KPU as the organizers, especially in the election of the regional heads of the Kampar Regency for the period 2017-2022. The problems faced by the Kampar Regency KPU such as the permanent double voter list, there are voters from outside the Kampar Regency who use a certificate, the participation rate is still low, the ability of the implementing committee to carry out their duties is still less effective.
Based on these problems, it is important to conduct research on the dynamics and implementation of the Kampar Regency Regional Election for the 2017-2022 Period. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach.
The results of the study are: 1) The implementation of the Kampar Regency Regional Head Election for the 2017-2022 period has taken place quite well, and can run smoothly safely and conducively. 2) the problems faced by the KPU are composed of internal KPU (human resources, as well as supporting infrastructure for the local election process), and also from external KPU (cooperation with other agencies, low participation of the community).
Therefore, the Kampar Regency KPU must be able to correct any deficiencies in the Kampar Regency Regional Election for the 2017-2022 period, so that the process of selecting the Kampar District Head in the future can run better.
