ABSTRACT
Preschool Education is education to help the physical and spiritual growth and
development of students outside the family environment before entering basic
education (Depdikbud, Dirjen Dikdasmen, 1994: 4). Designing an International
Kindergarten School intended to meet the needs of preschool education. This design
aims to accommodate preschool education facilities in which there is an
international standard of education by following the Camridge curriculum. This
International Kindergarten School facility can add an international educational
forum in Pekanbaru. This design uses an Organic Architecture approach. The
approach is applied as or as a whole to the building. Organic architecture pays
attention to the environment integrated with the site. The International
Kindergarten School Approach teaches children to learn to be one with nature and
the environment. Hula hoop rattan is a basic design concept that can connect
education, children and organics. The concept was obtained because Hula Hoop is
a children's game and is made of rattan which uses natural materials. Rattan has a
flexible nature, elongated and rounded shape, when the rattan is halved it will
become a cupped part. The shape and some of the characteristics of this rattan
became the inspiration in the design of the International Kindergarten School.
