ABSTRACT
Art is a human expression to revealed their feeling, make a creation to get satisfaction
with magnifiance. Art that is created contains a value that is conveyed to the
public,Islam is a religion that taught by Prophet Muhammad SAW, that guided by Al-
Quran from Allah SWT. Al-quran and hadist has arranged all aspects of human life
including about creating an art and culture that aims to bring benefits to society based
on Islamic law. But at this time there is not available a facility that accommodates
Islamic arts and cultural activities in the Riau province of Pekanbaru which has a
Malay community and Islamic values, Islamic Art and Culture Center is a is a forum
for cultural Islamic pratictioner. The community aims to learn the art and culture of
Islam, as well as a place to introduce Islamic art and culture with art performances,
cultural exhibitions to the public and domestic tourists .Islamic Art and Culture Center
applying the natural lighting approach during the day with to reduce the electricity use
of buildings which is mostly influenced by lighting in buildings, besides natural lighting
according to research also increases the productivity of building users. the concept
applied in this building is “Bunga Cempaka”. Inspired from typical value from in
malay culture which was then translated through the art of Islamic visual geometry,
arabesque. Then the results are applied to the formation of mass, facade, and interior
and landscape in harmony.
