Pengujian Kuat Lentur Dan Kuat Tekan Kayu Sengon Dengan Menggunakan Lapisan/Coating Resin
ABSTRACT
Testing the flexural strength and compressive strength of wood is a test based on
the mechanical properties of wood, namely resisting tension and pressure. In this
test, three different variations were carried out for each flexural and compressive
strength test, namely, flexural strength of solid wood, flexural strength of wood
coated with 1 layer of resin and flexural strength of wood with 2 layers of resin
coating. Likewise, the compressive strength test is carried out with the same
variation as the flexural strength. In each of these tests, the wood class was found
to be class III wood, and the average percentage increase in the flexural strength
of 1-ply resin coated wood was 17.97 MPa or about 0.4% of the flexural strength
value of solid wood, while the average percentage increase was The flexural
strength of 2-ply resin coated wood is 23.40 MPa or about 0.5%. And for testing
the compressive strength of 1-ply resin-coated wood, it decreased by 0.77 MPa, or
about 0.02% of the compressive strength of solid wood, while in the test of 2-ply
resin-coated wood the compressive strength decreased by 1.53 MPa, or approx.
0.04% of the compressive strength of solid wood.
