ABSTRACT
Concrete is defined as a mixture of Portland cement or other hydraulic
cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and water, with or without admixture.
Various types of concrete technology have now been developed according to their
needs, one of which is high-strength concrete. The use of admixture additives such
as superplasticizer is intended to facilitate the concrete mix (workability) in mixing
and compacting, reducing the use of water, accelerating the process of hardening
concrete with certain levels or variations and improving quality. This study aims to
determine how much influence the compressive strength occurs in concrete when
MasterGlenium ACE ® 8595 is added which is a Type F chemical additive (Water
Reducing, High Range Admixtures). This research was conducted by using the
DOE (Department of Environment) method according to SNI 03-2834-2000 with
the addition of the Variation Level of MasterGlenium ACE ® 8595 used 0,54%;
0,81%; 1,08%; 1,35%; 1,62%; 1,89% and 2,16% of the weight of cement used with
a water reduction of 42% against normal concrete mixtures. 8 samples were made
for each variation, where 3 samples were tested at the age of 7 days and 5 samples
were tested at the age of 28 days. The test object was made using a cylindrical mold
with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm. Based on the results of the
compressive strength test at 28 days with the addition of MasterGlenium ACE ®
8595, it showed an increase in the quality of the Normal Concrete is 32,43 MPa,
namely the addition variation of 0,54%; 0,81%; 1,08%; 1,35%; 1,62%; 1,89% and
2,16% of the weight of cement used. increased by 75,57%; 126,98%; 108,13%;
110,99%; 102,30%; 94,90%; 91,52%. The maximum increase in compressive
strength was obtained at a variation of 0,81% with a percentage increase of 126,98%
from the design quality with a compressive strength of 73,60 MPa.
