Analisis Neraca Air Pada Kesatuan Hidrologi Gambut (Khg) Pulau Rangsang Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
The Peat Hydrological Unit (PHU) of Rangsang Island is one of the PHUs in Riau
Province which is located on the east coast and is directly opposite the Malacca
Strait. Due to the high land conversion, the peatland of PHU Rangsang Island is
degraded and continuously emits emissions. The PHU of Rangsang Island is one of
the target PHUs for the Riau Province priority Annual Action Plan for 2019 after
the 2015 fires until 2017. The peatland fire disaster was caused by an unbalanced
water system so that the peat became dry and prone to fires. To find out how big
the water potential is, this study will analyze the condition of the water balance of
the peatland PHU Rangsang Island. The model used in peatland water balance
modeling is Thornthwaite & Mather Water Balance. The analysis and discussion
will examine the condition of the water balance quantity at the level Sub PHU of
Rangsang Island which is calculated by the climatological water balance method
and the land water balance method which has taken into account the surface runoff
discharge component. The results of the water balance analysis at the PHU of
Rangsang Island in 2020 show that the condition and quantity of the climatological
water balance for a year has a large excess of water (surplus). However, the
condition and quantity of the peatland water balance which has taken into account
the component of surface runoff for a year, there iswater shortage (deficita fairly
large) with the following volumes: Sub PHU 1 deficit 61.07 million m3, Sub PHU 2
deficit 36, 45 million m3, Sub PHU 3 has a deficit of 78.05 million m3, Sub PHU 4
has a deficit of 21.29 million m3 and Sub PHU 5 has a deficit of 3.19 million m3.
