Analisis Faktor – Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Lansia Bekerja Di Pulau Sumatera
Based on the economic activity of the elderly being the last cycle of human life,
by this cycle, they have retirement, started leaving the labour market due to physically
unable to work and earn income again, and only living from retirement funds or assets
collected in the previous life cycle. However, we often meet the elderly who are still
actively working in both formal and informal sectors, BPS data (2021) shows that one out
of two elderly people is still actively working in the last week.
This study aims to analyze the effect of the average elderly school age, average
elderly income and pension security ownership in elderly households on the elderly
working on the island of Sumatra. The data used in this study are secondary data from
Statistics Aged Indonesia in the form of panel data from 10 Provinces on Sumatra Island
from 2014 to 2021, which were analyzed using multiple linear regression methods with
Eviews 12.
Research results show that simultaneously the variables of the average age of the
elderly school, average elderly income and pension security ownership in elderly
households have a significant effect on the elderly working on the island of Sumatra with
an adjusted R-squared score of 99 percent. Partially, the average elderly school age and
pension security ownership in elderly households have a positive and significant effect on
the elderly working on the island of Sumatra while the average elderly income has no
significant effect on the elderly working on the island of Sumatra.
