ABSTRACT
The PLTA Koto Panjang Reservoir is located in Kampar Regency, Riau Province. This reservoir is utilized for various purposes, including capture fisheries, floating net aquaculture, tourism, and hydroelectric power generation. However, the economic value of the reservoir's utilization has not been fully quantified. This study aims to assess the economic value of its usage by focusing on the following objectives: 1) To calculate the economic value derived from capture fisheries activities in the PLTA Koto Panjang Reservoir. 2) To calculate the economic value of aquaculture activities using floating net cages in the PLTA Koto Panjang Reservoir. 3) To calculate the total economic value of the PLTA Koto Panjang reservoir utilization for capture fisheries and floating net cage aquaculture activities. The research was conducted from September to December 2024. Respondents were selected using convenience sampling for floating net cage aquaculture and a census method for capture fisheries. The study employed the Market Price Method to evaluate the economic value. The results revealed that the total economic value of fishery activities in the reservoir amounts to Rp.134.212.926.585 per year, comprising Rp.122.215.536.585 per year from floating net cage aquaculture and Rp.11.997.390.000 per year from capture fisheries.
