Tingkat Serangan Penyakit Layu Fusarium (Fusarium Oxysporum F.Sp. Cepae) Pada Daerah Pengembangan Bawang Merah Di Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
The development of shallot plants in Riau Province is one of the efforts to increase regional agricultural productivity. Despite various efforts, shallot productivity in Riau Province is still relatively low. One of the main obstacles faced by farmers is the attack of fusarium wilt disease, which causes significant damage to plants and reduces yields. Fusarium wilt disease is caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f.sp cepae. This study aims to obtain data on the level of attack of fusarium wilt disease and its control efforts in several shallot plant development areas in Riau Province. The research was conducted using survey and observation methods. Observations made were land conditions, symptoms, percentage and intensity of fusarium wilt disease, morphology of fusarium wilt fungus, and Koch's Postulate test. The results showed that the symptoms of fusarium wilt disease were pale green to yellow leaves, tending to twist, wilt, dry, and rotting tubers. The percentage and intensity of fusarium wilt disease in several research locations, such as Pekanbaru, Siak, Pelalawan, Rokan Hulu, and Dumai were different. The research location with the highest percentage and intensity of fusarium wilt disease attack was in Kulim Village, Pekanbaru City with 17.35% and 22.61%, while the location with the lowest percentage and intensity of fusarium wilt disease attack was in Langsat Permai Village, Bunga Raya District, Siak Regency with no fusarium wilt disease attack. Control efforts made by farmers are rotating crops, applying lime, utilizing biological agents, seed treatment, and using chemical fungicides.
