Penerimaan Penggunaan Gas Bumi Untuk Rumah Tangga Di Kelurahan Harjosari Kecamatan Sukajadi Kota Pekanbaru
This study aims to determine the level of public acceptance of household natural gas usage and to identify the factors influencing this acceptance in Harjosari Urban Village, Sukajadi Subdistrict, Pekanbaru City. The household gas pipeline program is one of the government’s initiatives to support energy diversification and reduce fossil fuel subsidies. Although the infrastructure has been made available, community acceptance remains varied. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques including questionnaires, documentation, and observation. The population of this study consists of all households using natural gas in RW 01 of Harjosari, totaling 50 households, which were also used as the sample through total sampling technique. The findings reveal that the level of community acceptance of household natural gas usage falls into the high category. The main factors influencing this acceptance include cost efficiency, service quality, and ease of access. These factors contribute significantly to the decision-making process of households in adopting natural gas as an energy source. This research applies Everett Rogers' Diffusion of Innovation Theory as the analytical framework, which outlines the stages of innovation adoption: knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation, and confirmation. The results of this study are expected to provide valuable insights for policymakers and service providers in enhancing public acceptance of the household gas pipeline program through more targeted strategies.
