ABSTRACT
Excessive use of groundwater will have an impact on reducing groundwater levels. To overcome this, implementing environmentally friendly drainage is one solution to prevent shallowing of groundwater levels. At Annajim Housing, changes in land use will increase surface runoff and reduce water infiltration into the ground, thereby potentially causing flooding and decreasing environmental quality. Therefore, the problem of decreasing groundwater levels and increasing runoff discharge can be overcome by implementing environmentally friendly drainage, including rainwater harvesting which will have an impact on groundwater conservation. The aim of this research is to calculate the capacity of storage tanks for domestic water needs for 5 family members in an effort to conserve ground water, as well as to calculate the reduction in discharge by harvesting rainwater from the roof. The behavioral model is used to describe the regulation of the volume of water in the reservoir based on the concept of mass balance during a certain period with the help of Microsoft Excel, input data consisting of daily rainfall sourced from the Pekanbaru City Meteorology Climatology Geophysics Agency for 2020-2024, roof drainage coefficient, roof area of the house, and data on water needs based on the number of family members. The rational method is used to calculate runoff discharge, the data used is the flow coefficient, rain intensity, and catchment area area. This research was carried out by simulating all types of 36 m2 houses with an area of 112 m2 and a roof area of 52,539 m². The main results of this research prove that the contribution of rainfall in 2020-2024 resulted in a maximum storage volume of 6,585 m3. In addition, the effect of harvesting rainwater from the roof can reduce 0.045 m3/second or 56.20% of the area's runoff discharge.
