ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the productivity of heavy equipment in embankment and granular pavement work on Jalan Kampus Universitas Riau. In the construction of road infrastructure, the efficiency and effectiveness of heavy equipment use greatly affect the implementation time and cost of the project. This study compares two alternatives for the use of heavy equipment: the equipment used by the project contractor and the equipment chosen by the author. The methods used include field observation, primary and secondary data collection, and calculation of productivity, equipment rental costs, and work time efficiency. The results of the analysis show significant differences in productivity, the number of equipment needed, and cost and time efficiency between the two alternatives. The author's chosen alternative provides better efficiency in terms of implementation time and operational costs. These findings can be used as a reference in planning and optimizing the use of heavy equipment on similar construction projects.
