Keragaman Dan Korelasi Genetik Antar Komponen Hasil Beberapa Genotipe Jagung (Zea Mays L.)
ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the components of genetic diversity, herritability, and
genetic correlation between components of corn crop yields so that it can determine
which characters can be used as alternative selection criteria. This research was
carried out experimentally using a random group design with genotypes consisting
of 12 genotypes. Each genotype was repeated 3 times so that 36 experimental units
were obtained in the form of plots. Each unit consists of 70 plants where sample
plants are randomly selected as many as 5 plants in each experimental unit. The
observed characteristics include male flowering age, female flowering age of
flowers, harvest age, plant height, weight of cobs without cobs, length of cobs
without cobs, number of seed rows per cob, number of seeds per cob, seed weight
per cob, weight of 100 seeds, seed yield per m2. The data obtained from the research
will be analyzed using software (SAS User manual version 9.04). The results
showed that the characteristics with wide genetic diversity and high heritability
were male flower bloom age, female flower bloom age, harvest age, plant height,
cob weight without cob, number of seed rows per cob, number of seeds per cob,
and seed weight per cob. There are characteristics that are significantly correlated
with seed yield per m². The results of the indirect selection response showed that
the character of number of seed rows per cob, number of seeds per cob and seed
weight per cob could be used to increase seed yield per m².
