This study aims to describe the difficulties of teachers in implementing the
independent learning curriculum in elementary schools. This type of research is
descriptive quantitative research reinforced by interview data. The place of
implementation of this research is at State Elementary School 18 Pekanbaru with
respondents totaling 8 Teacher Movers. The data collection method in this study
was to distribute questionnaires directly to the Driver Teachers and conduct
interviews as reinforcement for the questionnaire data. The data analysis technique
used in this study is by calculating the percentage of data from each indicator,
interpreting the percentage score and then analyzing each indicator. The indicators
of teacher difficulties are divided into 3, namely lesson planning, lesson
implementation and learning assessment where the final result of the average score
is 70.51% with the category of difficulty. Thus, the difficulty of teachers in
implementing an independent learning curriculum in elementary schools is that
teachers have difficulty adjusting the development of students' interests and talents
so that the time allocation needed is longer because the way information is
conveyed and student assessment is different.
