PENGARUH LATIHAN ACTIVE STRECTHING BACK STATIS TERHADAP KELENTURAN OTOT PUNGGUNG PADA PEMAIN BOLA VOLI GENERASI BUKIT KAPUR (GBK) DUMAI
ABSTRACT
This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of static back active
stretching exercises in improving back muscle flexibility among volleyball athletes.
The research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest
experimental design. The population consisted of 18 volleyball athletes, all of whom
were selected using a total sampling technique. The flexibility assessment
instrument used was the bridge-up test, conducted in three repetitions to ensure
data reliability. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, normality testing, and
paired t-tests to determine the significance of changes. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov
normality test showed that both pretest (p = 0.126) and posttest (p = 0.109) data
were normally distributed, as both values exceeded the threshold of 0.05. The t-test
result revealed a t-value of 12.152, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.201,
with a significance level of 0.005 < 0.05, indicating a statistically significant
difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Additional measurements
showed a 10% increase in the popliteal angle test and a 16.7% improvement in the
sit and reach test (SRT). These findings confirm that static back active stretching
exercises have a positive impact on enhancing back muscle flexibility, a key
component in the physical performance of volleyball players. This research
highlights the importance of evidence-based and structured training approaches in
optimizing athletes' physical capabilities.
