Biopelet Dari Campuran Buah Bintaro (Cerbera Manghas) Dan Cangkang Biji Karet (Hevea Brasiliensis) Sebagai Bahan Bakar Alternatif
ABSTRACT
Bintaro fruit biomass and rubber seed shells can be used as alternative energy sources in the form of biopellets. The content of lignin which is quite a lot and less than optimal utilization causes Bintaro fruit and rubber seed shells to be potential to be processed into biopellets. Thus, a research was conducted on biopellets from a mixture of bintaro fruit (Cerbera mangos) and rubber seed shells (Hevea brasiliensis) as an alternative fuel. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of biopellets based on SNI 8021:2014 and to determine the composition of the best raw materials in the manufacture of biopellets. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method with five treatments and four replications. The research stages include the preparation of raw materials, the refining process, the process of mixing the raw materials with adhesives, the printing process and drying of the biopellets. The results showed that the quality of biopellets from a mixture of bintaro fruit and rubber seed shells that met SNI 8021:2014 were moisture content, density, volatile matter content, bound carbon and calorific value but the ash content did not meet the standard. The composition of the best biopellet treatment in this study was P4 treatment with a mixture of 50% bintaro fruit and 50% rubber seed shell.
