Analisis Pola Perdagangan Internasional Indonesia Dengan Brics Tahun 2011-2020 : Pendekatan Intra-Industry Trade (Iit)
ABSTRACT
Intra-Industry Trade(IIT) is used as an analysis of the pattern of international trade (export-import) by a country with partner countries for products originating from the same industry. Initially, the IIT approach was used to analyze trade patterns that occurred between developed countries. However, nowadays IIT studies have expanded to include developing countries. Studies on patterns of intra-industrial trade between Indonesia and trading partner countries are still little done and research on intra-industrial trade in Indonesia is mostly conducted on the manufacturing industry, while there are many types of industries traded in the global market. This study aims to analyze Indonesia's international trade pattern with BRICS and Indonesia's international trade pattern with BRICS member countries during the 2011-2020 period. The data were analyzed using the intra-industry trade (IIT) approach using the GL index (Grubel-Lloyd Index) (Grubel and Lloyd, 1975). The results of the study indicate that international trade between Indonesia and BRICS member countries from the total industrial trade is included in the inter-industrial trade pattern, namely trade using different types of industries. The number of industries that are included in IIT (GL index >40%) Indonesia-Brazil are 14 industries; Indonesia-Russia as many as 6 industries; Indonesia-India as many as 42 industries; Indonesia-China as many as 24 industries; and Indonesia-South Africa as many as 8 industries. Then, international trade between Indonesia and BRICS from the total industrial trade is also included in the inter-industrial trade pattern, namely trade using different types of industries. The number of industries that are included in the Indonesia-BRICS IIT (GL index >40%) are 33 industries. This means that traded industries are still dominated by inter-industry trade patterns. Nevertheless, it can be said that there are quite a number of industries that are traded using the same or similar industries.
