Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Komunikasi Peserta Didik Pada Pokok Bahasan Reaksi Reduksi-Oksidasi (Redoks) Kelas X Mipa SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Kuantan
This research aims to determine the improvement of students ' communication skill by applying discovery learning model on the subject of oxidation-reduction reaction in class X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Kuantan. This type of research is experimental research with draft research using the Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population consists of 5 classes and the samples consist of 2 classes namely the X MIPA 1 class as the experimental class and the X MIPA 2 class as the control class. Experiment classes are given the implementation of the discovery learning model while the control class has no discovery learning model. The instrument used in the form of written communication skills test sheet which consists of five description questions and an observation two assess the student’s oral communication skills during the learning process and then the data obtained is analyzed. The result of the implementation of learning at each stage of this model belong to the very good category. For the average value of written communication skills in experimental class has increased, the average value of the pretest result is 28,94 and posttest was 88,38 with a very good category. While in the control class, the average valueof the pretest result was 24,56. In the posttest average is 56,47 with fairly good category. For oral communication skills increased from 50,88% to 79,12% at the second meeting and the last meeting to 81,03% with a very good category in the experimental class. Before testing the hypothesis, the data was first tested for normality and homogeneity.
