Struktur Komunitas Kepiting Biola (Uca Spp.) Di Kawasan Ekowisata Mangrove Kampung Mengkapan Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
As a detritus consumer, the presence of fiddler crabs (Uca spp.) is related to the environmental condition, including the mangrove condition in that crab’s habitat. A research aims to understand the structure of fiddler crab community in the mangrove ecosystem in the Mengkapan mangrove ecotourism area was conducted in January – February 2021. There was 3 stations in the study area, namely Station 1 that is in the estuary area, Station 2 around the used oil drilling building and mangrove ecotourism area, and Station 3 that is close to residential and mangrove ecotourism area. In each station, there was a transect line with 3 plots and in each plot there were 3 sub-plots (1m x 1m). Crabs were collected manually, three times, once/ week. Results shown that there were 4 species of fiddler crabs, namely Uca dussumieri, U.coartata, U. rosea and U.annulipes. Among these species, the most abundant was U. dussumieri. The crab abundance ranged from 1.629 to 2.444 organisms/m2. The value of crab diversity index (H') was 1.351-1, the dominance index (C') was 0.338 – 0.442 and the uniformity index (E') was 0.852 – 0.884. The mangrove density was 333 – 1,266 plants/ha and it is classified as rare to moderate, the water quality parameters were as follows: temperature 28.7-30 oC ; water pH was 7-7.7; Soil pH was 7-7.3; salinity was 24.7-27.3 o/oo and the organic matter of the substrate (sandy mud and muddy sand) was 17.77-25.19%.
