Abstract

Sea turtles are one of the marine life whose existence is endangered so it requires protection or conservation measures. The purpose of this study is to determine how effective turtle conservation management is carried out at UPTD KPSDKP through survey methods. The research has been carried out in May – June 2023 located in Apar Village, Pariaman City. The results showed that conservation techniques carried out at UPTD KPSDKP started from beach monitoring activities, incubation and hatching of eggs, hatchling care, adult turtle care, water quality management by paying attention to temperature, pH and salinity, quarantine for sick turtles, feeding and releasing hatchlings back into the sea. The effectiveness assessment based on the scoring results shows that turtle conservation management in UPTD KPSDKP is categorized as quite effective with a total score of 22
