Pendeteksian Limbah Minyak Kelapa Sawit Di Dalam Air Biotope Menggunakan Biosensor Alga Imola-Ivd
Water pollution due to oil palm waste will reduce the level of water quality. The greater danger if people are using water as a necessity of daily life do not know that the water has been contaminated by palm oil industry waste. It is also due to less of information held by the public about contamination that occurred in the water. Water quality measurement method is currently of using spectrometry and laboratory. With this method harmful elements contained in the water can be detected. This method has the disadvantage that requiring a long time to get a measurement result and minimum mobility due to the use of laboratory space. Therefore, alternative methods need to take measurements directly (real time measurement) and have a high mobility in order to reach the location of sample contaminants. Another method is called Biosensor. In this study consists of a detector IMOLA-IVD that has a form of sensor electrodes, which are arranged in the microchip package called biochip-C, and can read the parameters of water pollution resulting from algae environmental changes. Based on the algae rapid response with ability of contaminant detection, IMOLA-IVD can directly measures the change of parameter dissolved oxygen which allows real time measurement.
