Sintesis Biopelumas Dari Minyak BijiKaret : Pengaruh Katalis Naoch3 DanWaktu Reaksi Terhadap Yield Biopelumas
Lubricants are used in machines to reduce friction between two metal objects so that they can overcome wear on engine components. Rubber seed oil is a type of non-food oil (oil that cannot be consumed) because there is a cyanide compound (HCN) so that it can be used as raw material for making biolubricant. This research aims to synthesize biolubricant based rubber seed oil and study the effect of the percentage of addition of NaOCH3 catalysts and reaction time to yield of biolubricant produced. This research was carried out in several stages, namely: preparation of raw materials including extraction of rubber seed oil by pressing method, degumming process using phosphoric acid (85%) as much as 0.5% w/w oil at 90 oC for 1 hour, and separation of residual gum using centrifuge for 20 minutes. The esterification process of oil and methanol with a mole ratio of fatty acid: methanol of 1:9 using concentrated sulfuric acid catalyst (98%) as much as 1% w/w of oil, this process is carried out at temperature of 60 - 65 oC and stopped if ALB of oil
