Ketepatan Pemberian Antibiotik Definitif Pada Pasien Sepsis Di Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Periode Januari-Desember 2017
Sepsis is one of main causes some patients admitted into Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and also the leading cause of mortality in ICU. Antibiotic treatment is one supporting factors to a successful sepsis treatment. This study aimed to determines the characteristic of sepsis patients and the appropriateness of definitive antibiotic administration according to the exact parameters of drugs, dosage and exact length given to sepsis patients in ICU of Arifin Achmad Hospital in Riau province from January to December 2017. This research was a descriptive study. The sample of this study were septic patients in the ICU of Arifin Achmad Hospital from January to December 2017 who conducted microbiological examinations and antibiotic sensitivity tests. The datas were obtained from medical records at the Medical Record Instalation and Microbiology Laboratory at Arifin Achmad Hospital. The appropriateness of antibiotic given in sepsis patients was 76%, while the appropriateness of antibiotic given dosage was 86%, and the appropriateness of the length of given was 90%.
