Hubungan Kadar Zink Plasma Dengan Derajat Keparahan Dermatitis Atopik
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic and recurrent inflammatory disease, with pruritic where certain predilections according to the age. Atopic dermatitis prevalence has increased almost every year. The etiology is multifactorial, with two main hypotheses regarding immunology and skin barrier. Zinc is a micronutrient that plays an important role in regulating the immune response through various inflammatory cells and cytokines. The observational analytic study design used was a cross-sectional method. The subject were 22 AD patients diagnosed by dermatologist in Petala Bumi general hospital. The results showed that AD severity of the subjects was 50% were mild, 36.4% were moderate, and 13.6% were severe respectively. The results statistical test of plasma zinc levels with AD severity showed significant correlation (p=0.013) with the strength of correlation in moderate (r=-0.521). The results also show that the lower the plasma zinc levels, the more severe the AD.
